— The Bloom Movement

The Bloom Movement is all about not only using your strengths to better yourself, but using your strengths to help others. Volunteering and giving back to the community builds a better sense of gratitude for life, which is important for inner growth. So, on this page I'll post volunteer events and donation links for charitable organizations that help build schools or provide food for people all over the world. There should be an organization that falls into a category that you're passionate about helping. Whether it's the children, the veterans, the poor, the sick, the homeless or the animals I'll have a charitable organization listed to encourage you to make a difference in the world. " If not us then who? If not me and you?" If you are interested in any volunteer trips, please reach out to me and I would be more than happy to help you on your journey.

Mass Shooting in Orlando, FL

I love Florida and my second home is at the The University of Central Florida. I will be promoting a fundraiser in the Bloom Boutique specifically for the families affected by this tragedy. There will be shirts and hoodies featured in the Boutique and 100% of the Profits will go to the families. I appreciate all of your support! #OrlandoStrong

Volunteer Building in the Philippines

Volunteering with Projects Abroad on the General Building Project in the Philippines is a way for you to help others by renovating and building houses and schools in disadvantaged communities. Many of these communities are in areas that were severely affected by Typhoon Haiyan, which devastated the Philippines in 2013. With your assistance, they can provide an improved living and learning environment for local people.

You will work alongside a local builder, who will teach you all the necessary building and construction skills to enable you to fully take part in the construction process, where you will assist with all levels of building. The construction techniques you will learn are ideal for sites with limited facilities.

No previous building experience is needed to take part in this project. If you have relevant skills in this field, you will be able to take on a more specialized role. However, all volunteers on the General Building Project need to be reasonably physically active and should be prepared for working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

They work in partnership with three local organizations mainly around San Remegio, but also throughout Bogo City.

The 100% program is located in the Bloom Boutique to contribute to a charity organization of your choice. In the 100% tab  100% of the proceeds are donated to that corresponding organization.  Click the link below to get more information or Click on the Donation button to Donate to a Cause you're passionate about. I'd be glad to help!

Food for the Poor

Food For The Poor began in 1982 in Jamaica. Today, the interdenominational Christian ministry serves the poor in 17 countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. Thanks to their faithful donors, they are able to provide food, housing, healthcare, education, fresh water, emergency relief, micro-enterprise solutions and much more.

Food for the Poor is one of my favorite charity organizations because they have maintained fundraising and administrative costs of less than 5% of our expenses; more than 95% of all donations go directly to programs that help the poor.

Our faith inspires them to be an organization built on compassion, and motivated by love. Their mission is to bring relief to the poorest of the poor in the countries where we serve.

They strive to reflect God’s unconditional love. It’s a sacrificial love that embraces all people regardless of race or religion. They believe that They can show His love by serving the “least of these” on this earth as Christ challenged them to do in Matthew 25. We pray that by God’s grace, and with your support, they can continue to bring relief to the suffering and hope to the hopeless.

Let's Move

The physical and emotional health of an entire generation and the economic health and security of our nation is at stake.
— First Lady Michelle Obama

This is another one of my favorite organizations! I am a huge health and fitness enthusiast and Let’s Move! is a comprehensive initiative, launched by the First Lady, dedicated to solving the challenge of childhood obesity within a generation, so that children born today will grow up healthier and able to pursue their dreams. Combining comprehensive strategies with common sense, Let's Move! is about putting children on the path to a healthy future during their earliest months and years. Giving parents helpful information and fostering environments that support healthy choices. Providing healthier foods in our schools. Ensuring that every family has access to healthy, affordable food. And, helping kids become more physically active.

Over the past 3 decades, childhood obesity rates have tripled, and today nearly 1/3 children in America are overweight obese. The numbers are even higher in African American and hispanic communities, where nearly 40% of the children are overweight or obese. If we don't solve this problem, one third of all children born in 2000, or later will suffer from diabetes at some point in their lives. Many others will face chronic obesity- related health problems like heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer, and cancer, and asthma.

Everyone has a role to play in reducing childhood obesity, including parents, elected officials from all levels of government, schools, health care professionals, faith-based and community-based organizations, and private sector companies. Your involvement is key to ensuring a healthy future for our children.
